In the dark shadow of the grove, on the margin of the brook, he beheld something huge, misshapen, black and towering. It stirred not, but seemed gathered up in the gloom, like some gigantic monster ready to spring upon the traveler.
The hair of the affrighted pedagogue rose upon his head with terror. What was to be done? To turn and fly was now too late; and besides, what chance was there of escaping ghost or goblin, if such it was, which could ride upon the wings of the wind? Summoning up, therefore, a show of courage, [Ichabod] demanded in stammering accents Who are you? He received no reply. He repeated his demand in a still more agitated voice. Still there was no answer. Once more he cudgeled the sides of the inflexible Gunpowder, and, shutting his eyes, broke forth with involuntary fervor into a psalm tune. Just

It had troubled her since he arrived. The ultimate mystery to ever grace the halls of Orange Star High. Its very existence defied the laws of physics, gravity, and a bunch of other scientific mumbo-jumbo. Textbooks could be written to explain the phenomenon that she sure as hell couldn't.
Everyday, she stared at the thing, wishing she could uncover its secrets. How was it possible it could exist? No amount of experimenting had achieved the results that it had. It was almost as if it was mocking her with its presence; that she could never know how it was created and maintained.
She just had to know.
With her blue eyes, she once more inspected the sight. Just as it was the day before, it looked as if it had been made
Just Friends, Huh?As she piloted her Jet Copter, flying towards Mount Paozu, Videl ran her hand through her newly cut hair. She still couldn't believe she had cut her hair short, and for a boy no less. It was so unlike her. But she couldn't help it.Just Friends, Huh? by MissKisa
She, Videl Satan, was crushing on Son Gohan.
It wasn't supposed to happen. Videl Satan did not have crushes on boys. Or so she thought Before she knew it, she found herself falling for this naïve, kind, adorable and very handsome boy. This boy who had innocently suggested that she cut her hair.
She sighed. Like it could change anything. It was obvious that Gohan didn't feel the same way for her, and it wasn't a new haircut that would change that. But she couldn't help but hope. Hope that he would like it, hope that he would notice her, look at her, find her pretty

Gohan resisted the urge to pull at his collar. What was it with his mom and wearing suits? Yeah, he could understand wearing it to his father's funeraland even slightly the date with Angelabut to meet Mr. Satan when she didn't even like him? That completely baffled him.
The Son boy stood in front of the gated entrance to the world famous Satan Mansion. It was barely noon already and the demi-saiyan felt a bit hot from his yellow suit and white dress shirt. Currently his tie was attempting homicide by asphyxiation but it didn't quite have the complete choking grip on him.
Videl had warned him during her flight training that her father wouldn't like the fact she was at a boy's house. She even told him that he should keep quiet about it until she revealed

Videl once believed she had her entire life figured out. She had envisioned overcoming her father and becoming champion of the World Martial Arts Tournament, showing the all the world the hard work she had put into herself. She always imagined officially joining the police force after graduating from high school and rising through the ranks to become chief. She wanted to be like a general who led their troops from the front lines and take down any criminals who caused trouble for her city. It may have not been the entire world she saved, as her father did, but she would make a safe living for the citizens of her town. People would remember her name for her own valiant deeds. 'All's well that ends well…'
Gohan couldn't think of another proverb that could fit his situation any more perfectly. The universe was safe from another evil. His mother, brother and father – his father! – were together at home, all alive and happy. All their friends, who had to suffer temporary losses during their battles with Majin Buu, were also at their respective homes, all alive and together.
If anything, Majin Buu had been a blessing in disguise. Goten finally got to meet the father whom everyone had said he resembled. He hadn't seen his mother look so happy, so young, in years. As for him, Gohan and his f

Life is Too Short #1Chapter One: It Feels FamiliarLife is Too Short #1 by MissKisa
The chilly autumn wind had never felt so invigorating. It whipped at her face, rustled her clothes and swept her fringe across her forehead as she soared through the night sky. A perpetual smile seemed to be glued on her lips while her eyes darted everywhere around, blue orbs taking in everything they could, from the changing scenery below to the thousands of stars twinkling brightly from above.
She used to hate the shudder that came whenever a cool breeze would touch her skin. Like most people, she would rather snuggle up in a warm blanket than go out and face the cold. Right now however, she was truly enjoying herself and even welcomed the goosebumps gathering under her sleeves. Old sensations that she’d long forgotten rushed through her, reminding her of when she was a kid. She would run as fast as she could until she would feel the wind pricking her eyes and whistling in her ears; yet it clashed with the new found experience of flying through th

Shes kicking! Quick, Gohan-kun!
Gohan jumped, then sprinted over and fell to his knees, bending his head and pressing his ear to the bare stomach of his wife. She had her shirt pulled up to expose the stretched skin of her belly, her hands braced on either side of it, her face twitching with slight winces.
He listened intently for a moment, one hand flat beside hers, when a nudge pressed up against his palm and his face lit up.
Wow, he whispered. Shes so strong.
I know... Her face twisted again, her lips tightening. Believe me, I know.
He looked up at her and guilt filled his eyes.
Oh, Videl-san... Is she hurting you?
A little... Videl tried to smile, but it was twisted and strained. Gohans guilt intensified and he put both

"Class if you will, please turn to page Four Hundred Twenty Six so that we can begin today's lesson." Each of the 22 students in class complied and started flipping their books. most of them threw their foreheads to the books after looking over what they were going to be learning on this day. Calculus, the evil of all maths subjects. At least that's what the middle school students thought. Whispers began echoing around the classroom, students asking other students if anyone knew how to do any of the material placed before them. In the midst of all the classwork, there was one group of kids that was short two of their regulars.

"Vegeta, did you ever talk to Raditz?" Goku, attempting to make conversation with his long lost Saiyan cousin who had been newly found nearly 15 years ago, tried to ask a question that he thought Vegeta might find fit to answer. But, of course asking the Saiyan Prince any question that wasn't strictly related to fighting, strategy or food, might have been a pointless endeavor.
"Obviously. We were put into situations that we were forced to communicate in. It was strictly business. I didn't speak to him if I didn't have to. He was almost as much as a blundering fool as you are," Vegeta stated, quite matter-of-factly, we might add. He then appeared to glare out the window of his home as all the other party goers converged in the kitchen. You see, our lovable oaf had taken the time to come and talk to Vegeta on the eve of Jesus' birth, because heaven knows nary any other soul wo

Debris was piled everywhere, no sign of life anywhere. The sky was clear of clouds, allowing the sight of stars to be seen for the first time in quite some while. A gentle breeze blew by, causing the surrounding meadow of grass to wave like an ocean of green.
It was then one of the piles of rubble began to shake and fall apart. Emerging was the ruffled form of Dr. Gero and one with an infuriated expression on his face. His clothes were torn; various scraps, cuts, and bruise were visible on his visible skin.
His lab ruined. His whole life, his work, gone in an instant. This wasn't how it was suppose to happen. That monster wasn't supposed to occur, especially after all the calculations and research he had gone through to get to this point.

It hurt. Oh Kami, did it hurt. What did they do to him? He felt like every part of his body was burning and screaming pain. He could barely move without wanting to crawl into a little ball and die.
Gohan could've sworn someone had mentioned some kind of pain-killer, one that he really wanted right now, but someone said no. Gohan wasn't able to hear the rationale behind it, but right now all he cared about was his suffering body and how he could possibly end it.
A spasm wracked his body, causing him to let out a whimper. He was back in his little room, thankfully placed on his bed rather than dropped on the floor. A small comfort at the moment, though his sheets were nearly damp from the amount of sweat that dripped right off of him.
