Mission Statement

Group Mission Statement:

It is our goal here at SweetestIrony to improve the quality/quantity of Gohan and/or Videl fanart/fiction for the GhVi-loving community at large. In an effort to accomplish this, we will be running monthly contests with varying themes in hopes that others may be inspired to participate. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place winners every month.

Just so that everyone (not just the artistically inclined) can participate, we will be holding fanart AND fanfiction competitions simultaneously. The themes and prizes will be the same for both sections.</sub>

Monthly Breakdown:

2010

January -- First Time
March -- Role Reversal
May -- University
July -- Superpowered
September -- Meet the Parents
November -- History

<sub>All of these themes are meant to be moderately vague, meaning that entrants can take the idea and run with it (almost) wherever they like. We ask that your submission adhere to the theme and, of course, include both Gohan and Videl, but any detail is completely up to the artist/writer. If you so choose, you may make the pairing platonic/non-romantic, but we still ask that both characters be present in your submission.

Starting in January 2010, contests will occur every other month. Participation is purely voluntary.</sub>

General Guidelines:

1 ) AU fanart/fiction is acceptable.

2 ) You may portray young, teen and/or adult Gohan and/or Videl – doesn’t matter which!

3 ) Mature themes ARE acceptable in your submissions. Be sure to rate your works appropriately, though, and anticipate a Mature Filter on everything R-rated and above.

4 ) Your entry must be brand-spankin' NEW artwork/writing to be eligible for a contest. Though we agree that there is plenty of great fanart/fiction already out there, it's our goal here at SweetestIrony to create MORE of it, so older submissions kind of defeat our point.

5 ) Feel free to submit multiple entries, but limit yourself to a reasonable number (ie, any number higher than 10 is WAY too much). We'd like everyone to have an equal shot at winning ^^</sub>
